In the past I have always sold products, so writing a sales letter was pretty easy. I would just include a copy of my brochure along with the letter and it seemed to work pretty good.
Now I want to try selling engraving as a service to nearby business and am having a hard time coming up with...
I mean like plotter time for cut vinyl or in my case, laser time. At the moment I charge $1 a minute for my CO2 lasers (which I feel I am charging much less than I should and may change that) and $5 per minute on my YAG's (on the YAG's I won't put anything into them for less then $10)
I don't know if this is appropriate to ask this, if not I am sure it will get remove.
How much do you charge for machine time, and how do you figure out machine time when doing and estimate?
If I am running more than one of an item I will run the job on the machine without anything in...
I said I would try and get pictures of the problem up yesterday but wasn't able to get around to it. So here the pictures are of the problem with the sign.
I recently tried to log into my paypal account to check the balance (was expecting it to be a little over $1000 in there) When I tried to log in I couldn't remember my password and when I tried to reset it I couldn't remember the answer to my second security question.
I called there help...
It definitely isn't an ideal way to make signs this large. Cut vinyl would, without a doubt be the way to go, but this started as an experiment on acrylic awards to add depth to the image. On the small signs (like 8" x 8") it really makes a distinct look. On this one (32" x 36) the depth...
I'll try and post a picture on Monday (left my camera at home)
The sign is made by taking a clear piece of plexiglass, painting the back side of it white. Then running it through a laser to remove the white paint in the area I want the design along with a little of the plexi. Then spraying...
I would like to thank everyone for there suggestions, through experimenting I found that if I laid a piece of paper over the area I want the paint removed then slowly drip mineral spirits onto the paper until it is saturated after letting it sit a couple minutes the paint under the paper can...
I can't tell if you are joking or not. But, no, I have not tried mayo. The only thing I have tried is alcohol but that didn't do anything to the paint. All the other chemicals I have on hand I know will eat up the acrylic.
I need some suggestions on what I could use to remove spray paint from clear acrylic that won't melt or scratch the acrylic. I sprayed the second coat a little to heavy and in a few places it caused the first color to crack and lift and the second color got under the first. (the sign is...
Thanks for the advice on using mechanical fasteners, so far the ones I have made I have hung with silicone and double sided tape, I hadn't thought of the possibility of the paint pealing off the back of the plexi.
Hello all,
I own a engraving shop, Glass with Class, in northern Wisconsin. I do most of my work with a YAG laser from Electrox but also have a couple CO2 lasers from Universal that sit and gather dust and I have been looking for jobs I can do on them and by dumb luck stumbled into making...
