  1. Epson Printers

We had (x2) S30's and recently upgraded to an S60......the new machines are outstanding. We liked the first generation but this last set.......I don't understand why anyone would even consider a Roland at this point......more money, slower, less color gamut. Even the local competing sales rep...
  2. what does your Quotes

This^^^^ It's easier for someone to beat or match your quote if you've put all the design work into it and all they have to do is copy what you layed out. Might have taken you an hour to figure out a layout that makes sense. They can copy it in 1/2 of that time and save labour costs. We'll do...

  4. Loosing money - best estimating program

This is only half the equation. Me and my business partner did this exact thing for years and lost money or barely broke even. It wasn't until we looked at our expenses and adjusted our pricing accordingly that all of our hard work started paying off. Having gone through your problem myself, I...

  7. Purchasing a business.

I should also mention there was a sign shop in town who sold all their assets to one of our competitors but there were liens on that equipment too. They had already paid the old owners and then had to pay for the equipment again to get the liens released from the bailiffs. Hard lesson learned...
  8. Purchasing a business.

We purchased the assets of a failing sign shop three years ago. They were doing $90k gross /year. He was asking $75,000. My heart hit my stomach when I saw the financials. Unfortunately the owner had bought it three years prior and poured in excess of $350,000 of his own imoney into it over the...
  9. Hockey rink board ads - material used?

We provide the boards at one of our local rinks. They have clean 1/4" lexan facing that is permanently on the boards. We provide graphics printed on 2903 and mounted to 1/16" polystyrene. Would just print directly to polystyrene if we had a flatbed.

We have the S60600, used to have the S30. We were cleaning the dead weekly on the 30 but the new machines autoclean on their own cycle with a manual clean recommended monthly as per manual and techm
  11. Installing frosted vinyl orafol

Naturally over night. You can get away with same day peeling with the tips the guys above have already mentioned but with complex designs with any really skinny sections I always leave it overnight just to be sure, work the 2nd trip into my pricing. Peeling the mask will take 5 minutes.
  12. Problems laminating UV Prints

Have you tried heat gunning it to see if the fingerprint disappears? After install giving it a pass with the heat gun or letting it sit out int he sun for a bit may resolve it?
  13. Need Help Gerber plotter issues - cutting too large

Not necessarily, I just thought that might be an area to check and make sure the settings hadn't accidentally gotten changed in there. Personally I wouldn't mess around with scaling in that window for sizing jobs. To me it was someplace to check because it could easily get overlooked if they...
  14. Royal Sovereign Laminator shutting off randomly....

You can take the side covers off our Royal Sovereign fairly easily. There are a number of screws on the inside walls. Not all of them need to come off to remove the caps though. Once you have the caps off you can look for for loose connections or wires. First place I would look would be the...
