go ahead and swap it out. I usually swap mine before they run dry. I hate the line it leaves in a print if it runs out mid panel.
Test prints look good. That is so odd.
throw it into service mode and run the vertical and bias test prints so you can see if that is what needs changed.
Once you have to start physically moving the heads I call my service techs. But you may be more inclined to DIY. My machine is kept under warranty so I can focus on other things.
Yea i'd be interested to head if it is a damper issue. Also closely inspect the manifold on the head.(the nipple the damper plugs onto) they are very fragile and a hairline fracture can cause dropouts like that too.
how did you send it to versaworks?
Try an eps, a pdf, and system print dialog?
Do you have your cut line set to the correct spot color name for the cut?
i use adobe products 99% of the time and corel draw when absolutely unavoidable.
Ok I updated it to scale the text based on a static ratio. So not the best case solution but should work decently in most cases. Good luck! keep throwing ideas my way!

I'll try messing with it. I just need to do some math to set the text size i think.
To date i just select all the labels and decrease their font size till they don't overlap. Still alot faster than typing labels 1 at a time.

Are you changing cartridges around where the bands occur? I have similar issues with my LEJ-640 from time to time. At the moment I think it has to do with air getting into the lines around the time i change cartridges. This is pure speculation since all of my machine is blacked out due to the UV...
I ran about 10 rolls of DPF8000 through a roland SC 545 EX back in 2011. The trick for me was to clean the deck of the printer often as the adhesive would get left on the edges of the print platter that eventually gets to the point of snagging the media as it feeds.
