  1. Weeding small labels

Are these printed / laminated and then die cut or just regular vinyl cut letters? If regular vinyl cut, then 3M makes a 775 series that is on a clear liner which is really great for weeding small copy. (need to use high tac premask) If they are digitally printed with laminate, then depending...
  2. Summa Missed Cuts

It is strange as I have the Summa T series 140 and it cuts incredibly well and for the most part accurate.... I might add that what speed are you cutting at and how far apart are your registration marks?
  3. Summa Missed Cuts

Not a solution for your problem technically, but why not just print all the red or burgundy in large rectangles then put the cutlines within the box, so that if it skews the cut line is still in the colored box.
  4. JV100 ink usage question

  8. the future of graphic design

AI.... customer sent me a file...a 3" x 3" label generated by AI. eps file 32 meg...Took Signlab a while to open it. I thought for sure this was a bitmap saved at extreme resolution but it was not. Completely vectored. The redraw took a couple minutes and the design is pretty impressive...
  9. News Save $ on JetBest Ink

I have used Jet Best for over 8 years and I was worried at first, but after a few months realized it was better than Mimaki ink as far as not scuffing. This ink does not need the lines emptied before transitioning over so it must be pretty damn close to OEM. The only issue we have from time...

  11. Why is my printer using both black cartridges when that is not the way it usually works

Yes that must be it as when I loaded the new cartridge in the beginning it showed I had 2 months. Thanks guys...smart machine
  12. Why is my printer using both black cartridges when that is not the way it usually works

This printer is a JV150-130 and up until I noticed this always uses one cartridge at a time, when it is empty it moves to the secondary cartridge. In the pic you can see it is pulling black from both which could mean something has gone wrong. Has anyone seen their printer do this?
  13. Double Cuts

No stroke lines...but even if there were I did uncompound the cutline to see if I could separate it into 2 pieces but no go. One of life's mysteries
  14. Double Cuts

Just caught my Summa cutting a print twice. Every so often I catch it doing this, so I opened the file we ran and I am deleting the contour cut expecting to see a duplicate but nothing there. I even tried uncompounding, separating the contour cut, but there seems to be no duplicate cut...
  15. Question clear coroplast?

There was a clear coroplast that many people used for greenhouses but never could understand where I would use it in the sign biz. It was never technically clear, more like a glazed clear. I am looking at a sample chart I have with it from Coroplast brand They have a toll free number 1-800...
  16. Customer requesting relief cuts in vinyl

I'm positive the moment you cut it, within minutes you will see the separation starting...but the customer knows best!!

  20. how to turn off auto feed and length detection on a Summa s2 140 t series

The reason I am asking is that something strange happened when I went to print 8x 18" x 24" signs. I ripped the file with all 8 on the page and as it was printing I sometimes look at the percentage of print processed and when I did this time I also saw that somehow the prod manager was set for...
