I also wanted to mention for anyone else having a problem with the initialization and not even getting to the point where the carriage starts moving. I didn't need to replace the RAM, only to remove and reseat it.
hmm. bushings. haven't looked into that yet.
not concerned with ability to fix it, just locating the problem that is giving me a headache.

ordered a bushing/felt kit just to be sure.
went over the strip a few times again, just to be sure. also cleaned off the reflector and the red lens.
it is stopping right before it goes into the far left ISS area.

..well, back to getting stuck on both ends.
i wonder if it needs new felts. they seem to be ok. soaked with oil, but ok.

I keep getting these 'possible substrate jam' errors while it is warming up.
I have cleaned the carriage rails and oiled them. Is there something else that would cause it to get stuck on one end or the other?
It runs the length of the rail and then gets stuck on...
