  1. Light Gray coming out grainy - HP 365

Grainy-ness usually means there's a problem with your optimizer. Make sure your OP printheads are firing correctly so that those inkdrops congeal properly. If you need to, try copying the profile and making a version that uses more optimizer for greys/fine text.
  2. Anyone else disturbed..

I just pray that no more brave Americans are sent to risk their lives in anymore endless wars. Someone born when the war in Iraq started is almost old enough to be drafted for a conflict with Iran...
  3. Question HP Latex 300 Calibration

Unfortunately, besides whatever colors you can store with the Spot Color Replacement Table function in Onyx, I think it's a fools errand to try and get large amounts of specific brand colors the same even between printers of the same model. Just keep up with the maintenance/calibrations to make...
  4. Printing on metal is chipping

Had a similar story with some glossy aluminum blanks we were printing white on with our HP FB550. Same thing, little resilience to scratches. There are UV ink adhesion promoters but they stink to high hell and need to be carefully applied. I think changing the finishing to something etched or...
  5. Need Help Have never done this before..............................

Print the blue on clear adhesive vinyl (clear IJ40 for example). Then, mount a cheap, calendared white vinyl with clear adhesive to the back of it and cut down (this will make the lettering you didn't print white and add opaqueness to the blue). No need for white ink, simple process. Use this...
  6. Discussion New HP Latex 570

It is good to be familiar with the pre-profiling function of the 570 but I think they're referring to the small changes that need to be made to many premade profiles to account for differences in temp., altitude, humidity, changes in product. It's always a good idea to have your tech be...
  7. Four day work weeks?

Many studies show that productivity goes up in most scenarios in which workers "work", well, less (paired with competitive pay). CITE : https://www.huffpost.com/entry/why-germans-work-fewer-ho_b_6172262 If it's deadlines and scheduling it's up to management to keep those tight and set up...
  8. Best setup for high volume signs/decals

Yeah, it's a much bigger investment but a flatbed printer and a good supplier that can get you sheets already finished will be the better "high volume" combination. The automation of the flatbed will allow one of your people to go between running sheets and other tasks in between. You just...
  9. Anyone tried to print to 80gr paper?

Sorry for the late reply! I use a 10 pass with 100% density at 140 F (sounds low, right?). You probably have up to 15 F wiggle room if it's still smudging. I downloaded the profile, it's called 'HP Satin Wrapping Paper'
  10. Anyone tried to print to 80gr paper?

We usually use Lexjet 200g poster paper, anything under that gets too translucent. As far as print-ability we just ran a very light HP Printable wrapping paper on a 12 pass 150 F profile (100% density) and it was working fine. Be sure to advance and attach the media to a take up reel if...
