  1. Royal Sovereign closes doors.

Heard about it this week at Printing United. Confirmed?
  2. Royal Sovereign RSC-6500H laminator -> Do you have one?

We have one. If you do too, would you drop us a PM? Would like to discuss best practices for use. TIA!
  3. Higher prices appear to be here to stay

Higher prices appear to be here to stay. Let’s talk about managing inflationary costs, or more passing them along to the market. Vinyl, laminate and so on are pretty straight forward as the increases are simply passed through when quotting. But have you increased your sq/fr price for...
  4. Pole Banner hardware

We’re redesigning the interior of a beautiful rustic Amphitheater. The outside walls are all old brick, where we’re going to mount pole banners for the various sponsors of the event space. Any recommendations on where we can find a nice selection of pole banner mounting hardware? Maybe even...
  5. Wall Mural on wall with wood planks

We have a client that wants several wall murals for their new restaurant. One 21 feet, another 31 feet and another one at 12 feet long. The first thought was to do a wall wrap, but the walls are made up of uneven wood planks, some lifted a bit. I'm not sure it's going to look great. The other...
  6. Cheapest vinyl on the market.

What is the absolute cheapest vinyl on the market? We’d use it for doing daily maintenance, head tests and so on our machines. 36”would be wide enough. TIA.
  7. Drill bit for stone facade.

We’re installing a LED sign cabinet on a building with a stone facade. Concrete drill bit with hammer drill won’t touch it. Neither will a masonry bit. Any recommendations to get into really hard stone? TIA.
  8. 5’ x 10’ 6mm ACM availability

We’ve got a 5’ x 20’ building sign to install and are looking for 6mm ACM vs. 3mm. Any recommendations on where to get it? Grimco only has 3mm in 5’ x 10’. Reece charges to ship from some remote branch that may have inventory (a lot…) TIA.
  9. Adding ecommerce

For 2022 we're looking to update our website and add an element of ecommerce. I recognize that a lot of money can be spent on these things, which is okay with a good ROI, but are there any recommendations on web/ecommerce developers for small businesses? TIA
  10. Best way to mount an ACM sign to corrugated metal siding?

What fasteners do you recommend for mounting an ACM sign (for argument sake, lets say a 4' x 8' sign panel) to corrugated metal siding? Part of the issue also are the metal screws with which the metal siding is screwed into place with. Thus the sign panel can't be flush mounted to the siding...
  11. Ideal portable table to take on install sites.

We have several of the folding/locking plastic types. They are not ideal, mostly because they aren’t flat across the table. The fold makes them somewhat concave. Any recommendations for really great portable work tables? TIA.
  12. 3M Blue Tape alternative

We use quite a bit of rather expensive 3M Blue Tape. Anyone have suggestions for a cheaper alternative, perhaps even better performing? TIA.
  13. Does anyone know what media this is?

It's being used for beer can labels. Says "digital" on the liner. TIA!
  14. In-side window applications

Quite a few strip malls around here do not permit window decals/graphics to be installed on the outside of windows. Applying them to the inside poses some challenges if you don't have a UV printer with white (print reverse on clear and back-up with flood white). What's the best way for us that...
  15. What is going on with my Graphtec 8600-160?

I'm trying to cut a very simple file with lettering from Illustrator. Set to Rear 2. No matter what I do, when the file is sent the 8600 rolls out all 105", then rolls back about 1/2, then rolls back again to the end of the 105" --- and then just stops without cutting, but with 105" of media...
  16. Masonry anchors

We're removing and replacing old signage that is attached to brick walls with these masonry anchors. The head looks similar to hammer drive anchor heads. However, these are mushroom head nylon screw-in anchors. (Maybe they're hammer in, but screw out?) Home Depot/Lowes appear to only carry...
  17. Recommendations for suppliers of POP fixtures

We're getting more and more in-store (retail) graphics/design opportunities. Does anyone have recommendations for suppliers of POP fixtures? See attached for example. (It's a photo from Dollar Tree...not our client...) Thanks much! Kim.
  18. Tabletop laminator?

Hi all, We have a 61" Royal Sovereign roll laminator, but for small jobs it chews a lot of lamination with in/outfeed. A flatbed laminator, (Rollsroller type) would be useful, but too much for our needs. What about a smaller table top type unit? Something to use with cut sheets and capable of...
  19. Stretcher Bars

We're beginning to do quite a bit of custom canvas work. We've bought stretcher bars from BLICK, which seem pretty good so far. Any recommendations on other suppliers? Thanks in advance! Kim.
  20. Duplicating cut layers in illustrator

Is there someone well versed with Illustrator that would be willing to take my call? I have a question on duplicating cut layers. Probably something simple, but can’t find the answers on web-search or quite figure it out myself. Pm me with contact info. I’ll call tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
