Question 1624 advice

Request for advice:


I turned on the printer in the morning, and the colors are misaligned!


I replaced the short cables for the printhead and the CR board as well. All parts were original and purchased from Mutoh. The authorized service center wants to replace the printhead and the main motherboard, but it’s hard to spend €5000 without knowing the exact issue.

Unfortunately, it's hard to say. It looks like magenta is the issue and it's printing when it shouldn't. It is also printing when it should though which is weird. It could be the head or the main board but you won't know until you install them. If you can get your hands on a used/bad head that you know fires but is just missing nozzles or something, you could install that to see if the problem goes away. Then you would know if it's the head or the board. What your local repair guys recommended is probably what we would do in the same situation. I'd ask them if they would be willing to just install one of the items first and hope it fixes it and then only install the other item if not. The only problem being that it's about 50/50 which one will fix it.
