I have a customer requesting a sign made of this. Is it similar to komatex or sintra?

20pt is about .020 inches I believe....might try 1mm sintra...

The high impact polystyrene you find at your sign supplier is not the same as ABS plastic.

High Impact Styrene, HIPS and ABS are two different animals, both from the styrene family though. ABS is generally more durable than HIPS and doesn't have rubber modifier in it.
