2007 Chevy Truck Tailgate Emblem

Hi Guys,
Can any of you tell me how the emblem (The large gold chevrolet symbol) that sits right below the tailgate handle is attached? I'm thinking that it is not just vhb tape. Is there a perforation in the metal underneath for an attachment clip and if so how large? I would like to get everything off of the tailgate to make room for graphics. 2007 Chevy silvarado.

Just tape as far as I remember.

Google search shows no mechanical connection, should be tape.

Thanks everyone. That tailgate explosion is great. I will def try that next time. I just thought that there might be more than one model tailgate.
