$30 DIY vinyl roll slitter Video

Still cheaper than $300 12" saw.
You'll likely need an 18" say to cut through most rolls, most have at least a 1" arbor and 4" motor that are going to be in the way.
I do like the setup, been pondering something similar but I have 3" wide tape I need converted, it's a little more harrowing.

Hmm good idea. I think if you have a table saw with a sled, you could do something similar with rollers and only need to blade to stick out enough to reach the core

I used a 40 teeth carbide general blade. I also tested a 180 tooth blade and it started burning the material so LEAST teeth - better the result. Slower the saw, better the result. I just got a $45 Ryobi from tools direct. Sliding saw would be perfect but I didn't want to spend the money.
