Pixels Are Bad Mmmkay?

Is there any major difference between the industry standard 3105 or 5052 aluminum used for traffic signs and 3003 aluminum? One of our local metal suppliers suggested it as the most economical type of aluminum, but would it be an ideal choice for painting then applying vinyl and cut acrylic letters to? We plan on priming and painting with the proper Matthews paint and etching primer then applying Oracal 751 cast vinyl and Gemini cut letters with VHB tape to it. Does anyone see grade 3003 causing us any issues? I would refer to my Machinery's Handbook but it's at home and I'm trying to finish this quote by the end of the day. Thanks for any input.
