3D Printer for Braille?

Matt Trudeau

New Member
Morning,

Was just looking at Braille machines and had a thought, wondering if a 3D printer would work for this. I don't do enough braille to justify spending 5k on a braille machine, but I have always wanted a 3D printer.

Has anyone tried this?

Braille signs have to be ADA compliant, and the "tactile" pieces of the ADA sign are meant to be touched repeatedly by those needing the braiile, so the braille should be done with a certain material (beads) that are made to be touched repetitively and not be rough on the (sensitive) fingers. So, a 3d printer is not a good option.
