I was wondering what you guys thought of the SW 48" Mutoh package deal for 9,999.00?

It's a good deal, but if you've got the cash to spend, bump up to a ValueJet. It's faster, cheaper to run, and a lot less headache when it comes to cleaning and maintenance. I think you'd be much more satisfied with it over the Prism Jet. Good luck!

Nevermind my previous post, I assumed for that price they were offering a Prism jet, not a ValueJet, but I just went to the website and saw the special. This is a GREAT deal, I'd definitely jump on it! SW must have a surplus of 48" models and are cleaning house. Go for it!

OK, now that I've taken some time to read this, it's an "OK" deal, but you might be able to get something similar with a local dealer. Always good to read the fine print instead of just the advertisement. So as it stands, you're receiving the printer ONLY and Flexi Pro for $9,995. In my mind, the Flexi Pro is worth it since that's about a $3,500 add-on for most dealers. However, you're not getting any ink, you're not getting a take-up reel, no shipping, and the warranty is a "return to depot" warranty not onsite. So if your printer goes down, you have to pack it up, pay to ship it back to SW, be down with out a replacement printer and then pay to have it shipped back to you after it's diagnosed. If you upgrade to their DELUXE deal, then you're getting all the goodies for $15,610. But, if you look at the new VJ-1304, you get all of the above (except Flexi) for $16,995 list. Most dealers will work you on the price or a Flexi add-on so overall, it's OK. I personally I am not a fan of RTD warranties because if it's a major problem, you can be down a long time, plus you pay for shipping to and from the depot only to tell you it's going to cost a ton of money to replace. That might be a slim risk because the ValueJets are very reliable, but still, if something happens, it could really be a hassle. Email me if you have any other questions, and again, GOOD LUCK!

Again, I think the Flexi Pro add-on makes it compelling, but most dealers (including ME!) would work with a customer on that. It's just the fact that the printer is being shipped bare, that's hard to swallow. Anyhow, it's up to the customer I guess!

check with a local dealer. I got my mutoh 48", flexi 8 pro, take up real, shipped to my door, start up kit from 3m, training, warranty on site, banner, ink, some fill software, and other odds and ins, tax and everything for about 13000.

The only difference is this is a package for a ValueJet, not Prism Jet. Big difference in price and performance. I'd take a VJ over a PJ any day.

Howdy y'all,

Our 48" Mutoh ValueJet offer smokes. It might feel like a bait-n-switch, but hear me out. :^)

It's ala carte. Buy as much or as little as you want. Compared with the package-approach (read: you have to buy what the dealer thinks you need, not what you think), I think we're giving our customers credit for knowing their own needs.

Plus, if you opt for the full meal deal ("quote was about double") you'll get a couple grand in free -- additional -- supplies, in the form a a credit. Once again, what you think you need, not stuff the dealer thinks you need (read: their slow movers and/or high-margin items).

All-in-all, it's a great deal, and one that treats you with some respect. And it's from SignWarehouse, which means you'll get things that you'll come to appreciate as much as the printer:

1. Support (from trained, certified printer support specialists)

2. Help when most if not all other dealers are closed. We're open 7 am to 11 pm, weekdays. Plus 9 am to 4 pm Saturday. Plus, 1 to 5 on Sunday.

In short, if you have a problem at 5:01 pm on Friday, you won't have to wait until sometime on Monday to be back in business.

I'd advance that neither our price, nor quality, nor service can be beat on this. If I'm wrong, I'll drop and give you 50. Seriously ... it'll be on www.signwarehouse.com/tv

:^)

Best Regards,

Jim

Good explanation Jim!

It is a nice approach to allow customers to pick and choose what they want, and like I said, the Flexi portion is intriguing enough. Bottom line, it's about knowledge, support, and dedication. The customer's got to go with what best fits THEIR needs, not the sales rep. Whatever makes them happy!

You can print to a PrismJET EXTRA with a parallel cable but the LPT port and cable are slower than the print and data capacity of the printer, so it's too slow for most users. The crossover cable faciliates faster throughput to the SEH ethernet port.

When'd ya jump ship?

Jim,

When did you jump ship? I guess you must got a pretty good thing going there, cuz I thought you had a really good one with Summa....what's up?

Thanks, Matt!

BTW, I guess I should stop being so lazy and add a signature to my account. Meanwhile ...

Hey X Man,

Good to hear from you. How's things back in the PNW?

Hmmm? Yeah; I had it pretty good at Summa. But careers are a path, not a location. SignWarehouse is a highly-evolved and well-positioned company, and I was blown away when I came down for interviews.

Short answer: I thought, Man! I gotta work here. And as luck would have it, they hired me :^))))

D60 treating you well? 'Cause you know, our Vinyl Express Q-Series is suhhhhhhweet!

;^)

All my best,

Jim

Hate to steal a thread for my own personal use... what the hell.
Jim,
Where do I get a driver for a prism jet xtra, 36"?
Where do I get a sight or light for a QE 60 with ARMS?
Why don't you sell the Lynx 60 anymore? What a great plotter.
Who is doing your local repairs for prism jet xtra in Florida?
We have been well satisfied with our purchase over a year ago.
