A slight stutter a little hesitant on FC9000 when moving along the carriage.

Hi all

I'm not sure if I am going crazy but watching the FC9000 cut some stickers I notice a slight stutter the head is moving along the carriage. It is cutting ok but vertically perfectly and when doing a die cut it is perfect, when cutting along horizontally especially on a die cut, the cuts aren't as nice.

I've tried cleaning the carriage bars and got some dirt off but that has made no difference which make me wonder and I imagining this and it's part of the cutter or has dirt got in behind the head and needs removing and cleaning?

If I move the head with my finger, I can feel a little resistance every inch / couple of inches as described when cutting but as I say, I'm not sure if this bus the norm?

Can anyone confirm if they have this?

It is a common fault with Graphtec cutters.
You can find a plate spring at the top of the carriage. It holds the 2 rollers. 3 screws hold the plate. Release the 2 screws at the sides, the spring will tighten the carriage. Gently secure back the screws. While tightening the screws back, make sure not pushing the carriage down.

When taking the top cover off, be careful not to damage the ribbon cable for the control unit.
You might need to move a little board away at the top of the carriage. It has cables connected, easy can be damaged.
PM me for contact details if need assistance.
