Why when I create a new document,,, or use 4overs template does photoshop insist on taking my 3.625"*2.125" document up to 3.627*2.127?

I'm going insane here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:frustrated:

Ditto! If it's less than a 2' x 3' I prefer it. Loving me some photoshop. Also, on the issue which version of PS are you using? We have had issues with it defaulting to points or picas instead of pixels or inches.

I really think photoshop is a poor design program. Loads of special effects, but horrible for text.

How is it horrible for text? I have never had any issues with it, and I design in ps all of the time. It boils down to what your comfortable with.

Now back to the original question. Any ideas?

Check in your Preferences.
Edit/Preferences/Units and Rulers. See if Postscript (72points/inch) is Clicked or Traditional (72.27 Points/inch). Postscript should alleviate that problem. Also check your Units and make sure it says Inches and Points. If its MM it can through you off also.

I agree Flame, I hate the way Photoshop Deals with text. I design in Signlab then copy/paste the layers into PS for the final design.

I have a friend that does all his designing on photoshop and then expects to be able to use his files to create big stuff.
Yes it's ideal for business cards and flyers but it ain't any use for proper signs!!!!

Correct. Indesign or Quark is your idea programs from brochure, flyer and business card design. It's built with press production in mind.
