AbsoLUTEly fried....

I have mentioned a in a couple of other threads that we've been slammed for the past 8 weeks - which is awesome! But it's wrecking my brain.

Yesterday I get a call from a buddy who also has for all intents a purposes a 1 man shop. He does quite a bit of graphics installation for a few of the larger national "brokers", and he got an emergency last minute call from one yesterday needing as set of 12 graphics installed at a Giant Eagle. The kicker? Graphics are on average 8'x16' (with a couple in the 8'x24' range) AND it had to be done overnight from 9pm-7am. Oh yeah - and it had to be last night.

So, what do I do after two hard days already and about 4 hours of sleep? I say "Yeah, that sounds fun!"

So, i lock the doors about an hour early, go home and try to get about 3 horus of sleep before heading out. About 90 minutes into my nap I wake up with a massive migraine - I'm talking the kind that make you puke. 2 Aleve, 2 Tylenol, and 2 hours later my headache is finally gone and we are on a 2 man scissor lift knocking those graphics OUT!

They had allotted 2 nights to get it done based on the previous install crew's speed. Those guys must have been ridiculously slow. We pulled the last piece of 4'x8' transfer tape off at 5:15am.

Fun, but exhausting little side job. Good news is, it's gonna pay super well :rock-n-roll:

Awww, does someone need a hug??? j/k :Big Laugh

Good for you Gary. I've been rolling this year as well. Like you, I'm to the point of being fried. Not used to being this busy in February and it just keeps coming in. Hope it never stops too. Lol.

A$$. :peace!:

Now what would have been fun is to have you and I up in that lift at the same time Sean. For those of you who don't know, Sean and I are both what you might call "husky". And we're both about 6'4".

We're going crazy right now. A guy was just in here and wanted four words on his box truck. Count it... 1, 2, 3, 4. One on each side, front and back. I quoted him $880. It will take about an hour to cut, weed, tape and apply it, if that.

I thought he'd go somewhere else. Seems like when you raise your prices, the customers get even more desperate.

To be BRUTALLY honest, you can label yourself "husky" I am nothing short of "ogre-ish". And it would have to be a really big lift with a 2 ton capacity to get my big butt up there. Lol.

:ROFLMAO: right !!

I don't see the harm in this one. If anything, it will keep people away from me if they read this while intending to educate themselves on where to buy cheap. I see it as a win/win :thumb:

I feel you man. I worked about 150 hours in the past 2 weeks. My last day off was Feb. 12th. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this weekend. :loveya:

One of my employees racked up 51 hours of overtime last week.

Next week should be a little better, but the week after we have 250 trucks to re-brand. Business is rocking right now. I hope it's here to stay!

Today I was so fried, I couldn't remember my youngest son's name. Seriously. It was a total blank.

Thanks for telling me what I should be getting for doing a little box truck. W H O A. I'll remember that sometimes you have to bid it high and collect the cash! Good job my friend.
