I have mentioned a in a couple of other threads that we've been slammed for the past 8 weeks - which is awesome! But it's wrecking my brain.
Yesterday I get a call from a buddy who also has for all intents a purposes a 1 man shop. He does quite a bit of graphics installation for a few of the larger national "brokers", and he got an emergency last minute call from one yesterday needing as set of 12 graphics installed at a Giant Eagle. The kicker? Graphics are on average 8'x16' (with a couple in the 8'x24' range) AND it had to be done overnight from 9pm-7am. Oh yeah - and it had to be last night.
So, what do I do after two hard days already and about 4 hours of sleep? I say "Yeah, that sounds fun!"
So, i lock the doors about an hour early, go home and try to get about 3 horus of sleep before heading out. About 90 minutes into my nap I wake up with a massive migraine - I'm talking the kind that make you puke. 2 Aleve, 2 Tylenol, and 2 hours later my headache is finally gone and we are on a 2 man scissor lift knocking those graphics OUT!
They had allotted 2 nights to get it done based on the previous install crew's speed. Those guys must have been ridiculously slow. We pulled the last piece of 4'x8' transfer tape off at 5:15am.
Fun, but exhausting little side job. Good news is, it's gonna pay super well
