Accidentally lost of ink waste unit

We moved to larger spot and believe to have lost this piece that houses the pads for excess inks. Can we bypass to we order new one. Saw one time where a fellow didn't even use his. He cut out the bottom that sent ink directly down into a bucket or pail.

lots of ways to bypass ink waste container. my mutoh uses the bottom of a plastic bottle for waste ink.
You might have to bypass the sensor though if your machine has one.
