Acrylic to lexan?

Greetings!

We have to replace some acrylic panels in an existing sign - a pair of which currently have rigid acrylic (Gemini type) letter tracking affixed. Does anyone know if we replace panel with polycarbonate (Lexan) instead of acrylic, can we still use Weldon to affix the new tracking? If not, what would be the best way to marry the two materials together?

or get new polycarb tracks? they're fairly cheap...

pop rivet, the track is on forever, no worry about glue compatibility

Be sure to get poly treacks. I would pop rivet them on then.

Rivets and holes provide a week point for the tracking to fracture.

I glue them with weld-on. It takes a bit longer to set up on poly vs. acrylic, but they stay on well.

we have always used gemini trac and polycarb faces.... glue the trac, then we use

#45 alum rivets for 3/16 faces... never, ever had a problem.... rivets aprox.8" c to c
