ADA Raster Braille with Rotary Engraver

Hi All

I got a Rotary Engraver to make ADA signs but the cjhalenge i cant figure out is how to keep the letter edges straight (vs. beveled) and equally importantly I do not want any cutting on the substrate. Is it just done with dept control of the cutter only? Seems so hard especially if the tool wears out. Or is it best to cut the letters separate then somehow try to align on the substrate? Not sure so any help is appreciated.

For straight edges use a parallel cutter instead of a profile cutter (although beveled edges are preferred by blind people). You would have to cut the letters separately if you don't want the substrate to be cut at all. If you set the micrometer to .034 for the applique, the cut into the substrate is so slight as to be unnoticeable.
