Adding Color to Vectorized Design

OK...should be a simple question. I received a business card and scanned in the name of a company. I performed the autotrace feature in Flexi to clean up the artwork. How do I add color to a letter and not have the color fill in the areas that should not be filled in. For instance, the letter "p" or "e"? I hope that makes sense. Thanks.

First off, delete the bitmap you autotraced.

Next, select all vectors that you want to have the same color fill. Release any compounding and apply fill. Finally, with all still selected execute

Arrange menu > Path Direction > Automatic
