Adhesive for acrylic

I have a customer that would like me to match an existing ADA sign. It's two layers of acrylic. The top layer is 5/64" non-glare that is back-painted. And the bottom layer is regular 1/8" clear acrylic.

Can you recommend an adhesive to bond the two together? One that won't cause any issues with the paint in between?

Would latex paint be alright to use?

Every system I've seen like that uses the 3M clear VHB tape.

It may be the clear sheet adhesive. There isn't really any gap/distance between the two layers of acrylic. It must have been adhered, and then routed/engraved afterwards. The edges are pretty flush and clean.
