I am looking for a cheap very short term label. It does not need to be vinyl it can be paper, is there such an item? Cheap perm adhesive paper

bad design kills
I think Roland is the only roll option anymore.
Other option is running adhesive backed paper though a laser printer and trimming down.

FWIW the Roland glossy adhesive photo paper is pretty nice and works well for short term stuff. Be aware that it's a pretty aggressive adhesive that will tear the paper apart if you mis-apply and try to pull it back up. Once it's stuck it's done. It's also a little bit of a PITA to remove from the backing on an edge if the media is cut to the same edge as the liner, so plan your cuts/weeding appropriately for that. If you just print and then square cut everything, you're gonna fight to get it off the backing, so if this is something you're giving to a client to apply, leave a weeded border around at least one of the edges.

A cheap roll of vinyl will probably be more affordable than any adhesive-backed paper rolls you will find.
Sihl has an adhesive-backed "art" paper but it definitely doesn't fall into the cheap category.

Hi,
If you want to go cheap,
purchase a dual-sided mount film and laminate it to the back of plain plotter paper.

remember to print the paper 1st, drop the pass count down to avoid over saturation

Aren't many options for adhesive paper rolls for digital use, most of what's out there is the massive rolls label manufacturers use, and most of those get the adhesive by machine as they're being applied. I used the Roland stuff a couple times, customer didn't want gloss, so I just switched to cheap calendared matte vinyls and used no lam... Close enough to the look of paper for them, and economical.

I did find another option at another place I look for oddball stuff at though. Only comes in 24 & 36 inch.
