Ah, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying. Then it must be that cs3 was only 32bit, therefore we couldn't use more than the 4 gigs?

You are correct. CS3 (and older) only have a 32 Bit version of Photoshop and cannot use more than 3GB of RAM (Windows can use 4GB, but programs are usually limited to 3GB).

i have design premium, but i wish i would have went for the whole suite after the classes i signed up for this semester. ughhhhh.
