advice about buying a HP 8000 designnjet

I'm fairly new and green to the world of signage - I have a 24 inch graphtec cutter and have just been doing basic vinyl signs and a couple of windows but I have seen a used HP 8000 for sale. I've read the reviews and obviously not needing a laminator for short term outdoor signs appeals. Plus I read people have used them for back lit vinyl, outdoor, indoor and specialist vinyl as well.
I do know someone who uses a lot of signage for his many businesses and if I had the capacity to produce them for his current costs, I could have the work. I live in a town where nobody is offering a sign or print service at the moment and I'm also interested in the printed photo walls market - I think this would do this?
The guy is looking for €6000 for the printer with one set of inks. I think it's a bit high for an out of production printer but would appreciate any opinions.
Many thanks
