When it comes to 3rd party inks, the common issues are gumming up or pigment variations, if going 3rd party, make sure it's a high quality brand and that the colors match.
We've switched our 2 Roland solvent printers and our LEJ-640FT and we've never went back. The company we went through even guaranteed they will fix any issues that their ink causes on our machines...I couldn't even tell the difference between the new ink and the OEM stuff. Coast to Coast out of California I believe is the company. It's always good to stay with the OEM stuff when your still under warranty but after that, might as well save some money.
