Hello all,

So i was just given an anagraph ae-75e with out any software. Im having issues getting it to connect to both of my computers(mac and windows vista). I cant seem to find it as attached hardware on either one. Machine powers on and centers itself, but i get nothing. Ive tried inkscape, and easy cut studio. Now i know its an older plotter and im using newer computers to run it so idk if thats my issue. I work with a bren cutting plotter at work which seems to connect just like a normal printer would. Any ideas? Or pointers? Thanks in advance

You will need some sort of sign cut software that can recognize the plotter. I have an old AE-60e, w/ a "serial" port connection. I have to use a a USB adapter that I got about 10+ years ago. A quick look at some of the "bargain" sign cut programs show that they support that model.

Both programs i was able to get( listed previously) show they are compatable. Im using a usb adapter as well but still not able to register the plotter on my machines. If i go into my ports the usb device shows up but not the printer, if i go to print in either program no printer shows up, same as with ad hardware.

I am surprised that inkscape would support a plotter. As far as cut studio goes, is there some sort of plotter setup or install? Usually you have to choose the type of connection or port type (USB, Parallel, Comm port) a lot of these are old ports that aren't found on modern computers. I looked at my cut software (Vinyl Master) at it has a place to add and setup the plotter.

I was actually able to get it going with cut studio on ny vista pc. Like you said it allows you to select the specific port under the “cut” tab up top. Im not super tech savy so im not sure how it works but unlike going to the print menu and adding a printer it jast sends it through the port.
