Using just one character is a bad idea. Especially if you don't know if it's a cap or a lowercase "s".

If capital, my database's best guess is Akzidenz Grotesk Extended Bold. If lower case, then best guess is MicroLaser from Fluent Laser Fonts (Casady & Greene).
