Any tricks?

Anyone have any tips or tricks to get this effect in a vector format? I'm shooting for that distressed edge/torn look. I've drawn it before and scanned it in but was hoping there was any easier way to get that look. I've also used some brushes in Illustrator but it is just a line with the stroke color giving that look so the vector data is really just a line. Any help is appreciated.

Is there anywhere to buy graphics like that? I'd probably do that if I can't find an easy way to do something like this in vector.

can you create outline from stroke on those effects in illy?

When in Illy after you make the stroke go up to the top menu Object then Expand and you'll have what you want.
