Anybody else "bloom" your coffee?

Just learned about the technique of "blooming" freshly ground coffee before doing a drip pot. Google it for an in-depth review.

I only drink two or three fresh mugs a day, but all I can say is wow...it's raised my snobbery to a whole new level.

Next step is to learn how to roast my own beans.

Not sure I can wait 30 minuets for a cup of coffee. Is it really that much better?

Definitely worth it if you drink it more for the flavor, instead of the caffeine kick. Although I do like the tickle on my brain most mornings.

Only takes me about 5 minutes to get a pot ground, bloomed and started dripping. It can be a rather mundane chore sometimes, but the reward is worth it.

We use the "little mermaid" beans, and I've yet to get a cup that good at any of their stores.

I double brew.

Pour the pot back in the top.

Fresh ground beans are good on top of vanilla ice cream.

I get my coffee every morning from a local roastery, and lemmetellyou, that coffee is so freaking amazing. It never tastes as good when I make the same exact beans at home. I'm going to try to bloom the coffee next time to see if I can get a similar experience.

I've been drinking this epic coffee for so long, I can't drink anything else. I also drink it black, so I can't mask the bad stuff with cream and sugar. I LOVE coffee.

This doesn't have any thing to do with a monkey "processing" the beans does it?
I like my coffee black but not too black....
