Came in this morning, had a machine(a dinosaur running win 98) wouldn't do anything but boot in safe mode. Messed with it for 30 minutes & finally sent it to the local guru. Early this afternoon, my laptop that I run flexi7.6 on stopped responding & i had to reboot(so far, so good) Just a few minutes ago the new dual core, hot rod, rip station stopped responding! Is it just me , or is this some enchanted moment in time, right between a full moon & Halloween?

I once fried two motherboards in the same night.
Made me believe someone was hacking me.

That would make me believe I had some serious electrical fluctuations or some static. Remember, if it happens from inside the power supply...surge protection will not matter at all.

My issue is sometimes my right click won't work unless I close a window. Other times I need to close an application to open another application or even open a web page unless I close another web page.

This happen to anyone else?

I sometimes wonder if it is because I might be faster then the computer, but that's fools thinking. Time to backup a little more frequently.

Want a fun one? this will piss people off.

1: put a small sticky note on the bottom of their mouse...
2: re-map their keyboard, ie change e to f and f to e (works better if you only do 2-3 keys...)

3: take a screen shot of a persons desktop , or workspace.
then set that to their background image, then move all icons / shortcuts off the desktop. then watch them try to click on the "background icons"

4: if something is not working tell them to press
(windows key + U + U) or (Alt + F4)

I'm not responseable if you do this and get your ass kicked.....

A good quality UPS is a good thing to have. Saved my bacon many times, I'm sure of that. An anti-virus (up to date) and a cookie thrasher (Ad Aware) should help. Have a minimal amount of applications running on the start-up taskbar.
Could be the fool moon..lol

These problems happen because someone is surfing porn online!!! No just joking, but I bet a more than just a few of you perked up there lol I too had a mother board blow last week on a relatively new computer (1 year). It hung twice while printing banners and not at the beginning either it waits until the last 8 inches then it hung. After that happened twice the next time I rebooted...nothing she was down and out. Good thing it had a warranty. This brings me to a question . I felt really stressed knowing we couldn't print for 4 days while the comp was being repaired. Do you others here keep a spare computer loaded with all your software for just this reason? I was thinking of purchasing a laptop to be used strictly in emergencies for any of out 3 work stations as each runs different softwares. Good idea or a waste of time?
