anybody know what process this is and who does it?

Need to find a vendor who does this. The piece has a chrome look and everything is rounded, sort of like doming but the colour is not clear like a dome.

could be just colored resin. we've done stuff simular to this before where we colored the resin to a clients spefic color.

maybe find a vendor who does doming and ask them if they can do that for you.

to be honest pat, it depends on what type of resins you use. there are many different resins out there, some will take to color ok, others not so much.

The big companies that do doming say that the stroke has to be a minimum width and this one is much narrower.

This sample seems to peak more than doming usually does from what I have seen. Doming usually starts to flatten out over larger area surfaces

Is that just printed on clear or do you know if they are cutout?

That new Roland that prints layers of a clear coat can print raised lettering and images and then on the top layer is the final print.

They called it embosed effect.

That looks quite deep, not sure how much height that Roland can print.

There's a company in USA that offer this kinda product. They send me samples, their stuff is premium but prices also. From what I understanded, they have to create a mold or something like that so the setup fees could be in the +5k range (!!!)

Maybe you could contact 'em to talk 'bout that.

there are cpmpanies that will do it as said above, however setup costs are extremly expensive.......thats the downside. if your client wanted tens of thousands etc, fair enough.

it maybe worth the option to go down the domed resin route, cheaper, and you will get a very simular effect.
