Anyone have a Kala XY Cutter?

Hello guys,
We're currently looking into cutting machines for my print shop, and after doing some research, I’m particularly interested in Kala XY cutting machines.

I've never used an XY cutter before, but we're considering it mainly for cutting our posters, as well as handling a wide range of printed materials.
I’ve heard a lot of good things about KALA but would love to get some real-world experiences and feedback from users here. I was wondering if their price is justified or should I go for something less expensive.

All opinion, suggestions and feedback is welcomed.

Many thanks to you.
Kalen

Do you have a flatbed cutter? if you don't have a flatbed look into those, more versatile than an XY but if you already have a flatbed and need that additional cutting capacity then XY is great

if you are printing rolls of vinyl or wallpaper the kala shines. If it's your first cutting device look at a cnc like a Colex or esko. You can still cut all of your roll to roll media but have the advantage of cutting rigid boards.

Talk to Supply55 about the Kala XY and Colex/Fotoba sales and compare their offerings and see if your print volume makes sense for an XY cutter, and get a feel for both companies. Definitely talk to at least one shop that has the XY cutter you choose before buying. I briefly talked to Colex/Fotoba about an XY cutter and printing united, but was directed towards a flatbed because I'm not going through hundreds or thousands of feet of media per day every day.

Ok, thank you for your suggestion.
