Typically large runs like that are done by specialized flexographic printing presses. However, lately the HP Indigo digital presses are coming into their own as the quality and speed is very good. Neither of these actually do any "finishing" which is the die-cutting of the label stock itself. That process is often handled by rotary die-cutting machines that can run at speeds of up to several hundred feet of material per minute. Certainly not an area that most sign shops can compete.

Cheers for the reply but you'd think for $69 orders those types of setups wouldn't be suitable.

If you're going to print 10,000 decals an hour, that is the type of machine you'll need. You'd be surprised, they could be running 2-3 shifts per day with equipment like that. Realize that profit margins at large commercial printing plants might only be 5-10% so they run their equipment all day long if they have the work.
*Of course, that doesn't mean they don't have smaller quick-setup machines to handle the 500, 1,000, etc. orders as well. Take a look at this one...

Only ones I think I would consider stealing would be the iaPeel skin templates since they would be pretty accurate and include the die cutting marks for everything. with the apple stuff or geometric stuff you really don't even need those templates since you can do the same thing in 2 minutes with a ruler and a square with rounded corners. When it comes to apple, they have a massively simple design (good for product recognition, bad for the fact that anyone can skin out their product)

Is anyone else having a issue opening the phone templates off the second site shared? It seems the outlines come up good but i'm using CS3 and there are breaks in the outlines.
I tried patching the breaks up but can't get it right so i can overlay a design onto the template.

I downloaded one to see and yes there are breaks. Not sure why they did it that way but the consistency means for that company it was intentional for some reason
