Application for imitation silver leaf

Hi Everyone,
When applying specialy filsm, I usually put a solid color vinyl down first, then overlay the specialty vinyl, then clear the edges with a clear lam. My question is, If I am applying a clear laminate over specialty film, do I need that extra vinyl underneath??? The Product is Creative Film Corp Silver leaf.

I've never used another layer of vinyl underneath any specialty materials here. Always just print it & cut it, then lam & cut it 1/8" extra around the graphics for the edge seal.
