Arlon Laminate with Oracal?

I am pretty sold on printing on Oracal vinyl, however, I'm using a big squeegee, and would really like to have a thicker liner on the back so that it makes it easier to lay down. I can do it it ok with the Oracal, but on bigger prints, I have a higher error rate.

I was trying to think of what I could use instead because I just ran out of laminate, and was looking at Arlon. I remembered Dale telling me that it had a thicker liner. I've never used it before. I know it's probably frowned upon because you aren't supposed to mix brands, but I'm just wondering if that's just because they won't stand behind it (which generally they don't anyway from what I've heard in stories) or if it really will fail if I mix the two.

Can anyone weigh in on this?

Yea, I was going to stick with cast on cast, etc, so I'm thinking the chances of something failing would be about as good as if I'd put the same brand with the same brand and it failed. I haven't used Arlon before either, so not sure if that's the one to go with or not.
