Automatic Strokes

Does anyone know how to keep Flexi from automatically activating the stroke feature on every new file?

I've had this problem in 7.5, 8, and now in 10.

Usually, Flexi will start of by having no stroke on an object unless you add one via the fill/stroke editor but eventually the default settings will change to have the stroke active. (Width .100 / Miter Limit 4.00)

It's easy enough to clear off but it slows things down when I have to remove the stroke in every new file I create.

I'm pretty sure it comes from saving a file where it's set to add a stroke to every new object and then for some reason it will have that setting saved whenever you open a new file.

If you open an old file where there are no strokes, you still have to turn it on manually but if you make a new file, there it is.

I've tried restoring the defaults but that doesn't change anything.

The only way I've found is to get rid of it is to uninstall and reinstall Flexi but that takes too much time. I'm sure there's a way to fix it but can't find where to do it.

Any info would help.
Thanks

Without selecting anything in a new file, go to the stroke window and turn the stroke off. It's a way to set defaults
Works with fonts and colors as well.

Thanks Mikey. I know what you mean about changing the settings in a new file with nothing selected and if I clear it off it won't come back in that file but when I open a new file it's there again.

I've even tried saving an empty file with the stroke cleared but nothing.

The only 'Restore Defaults' button I've found is under Edit-Preferences and I've tried hitting that on every tab but still that stroke remains.

I've been living with clearing it off every time but it just gets annoying because its one more step. Guess I'll keep trying.

I sent a note to Flexi tech support and this is what was sent....

In order to set the stroke line off what you need do is to open Flexi, go the Edit menu->Preferences and make sure the check box for Save setting on exit is ticked on, then go to Flexi layout turn off the stoke line, exit Flexi and then restart the program, the next time you open File the stroke should stay turn off.

In 7.62 I find no place to check for saving setting on exit.
Do you know where this might be?

To date there have been several comments back and forth to Flexi and I have not yet seen an explanation or correction.

I once had the same issue with Flexi 8. None of the above fixes (which usually do work) worked. It was very frustrating to have to turn off strokes in every new document. I started up Flexi one morning, and the problem was gone. It hasn't returned yet. (fingers crossed)

Edit: I did not attempt a re-install. Although, I'm sure that would work.
