Does anybody have any tips for lifting Avery 700 metallic gold vinyl from the backing paper? No matter how high tack the application tape is and no matter what depth I cut the vinyl, it just will not come off the backing paper. Having to use a knife to individually lift each letter which takes forever. This was never a problem until two or three years ago, the vinyl has obviously changed. Any help appreciated.

first maybe try peeling the backing off (upside-down) instead of the fronting =)

Have you tried flipping it face-down and pulling the backing off at a sharp curl? Hell, did that even make any sense?
