Awesome ideas for youth centre walls

Hi all. I thought I ‘d throw this out there for some ideas. I’ve been given the opportunity to renovate the walls in a major hospital for the at risk youth 8-15yrs. The walls are all blank and range in width from 8m down to 1 metre gaps.
I want to mix it up and create an awesome area for the kids.
I have a reasonable budget to work with and all media has to be rated and non-markable.
So... I am doing a couple chalkboard walls, a couple of full wall murals, a few decals here and there. But was wondering if you guys have done interesting features? Cork walls to pin up art work? Sound foam to give an idea of a recording studio in the music room? Open to suggestions.
Cheers, Christine

Being a grandpa is more fun than working
Your photos are proof positive that hospitals are "sterile" in more ways than one. I would definitely be leaning heavily toward nature/forest/aquatic themed murals: places where most at-risk kids have never been. Cork boards are an excellent idea, and since chalkboards are terribly dusty, I would also suggest plenty of easel-sized dry erase boards attached to the wall and plenty of markers to allow for creativity.
