Back light car door?

Hey guys I have a project that we Re working on. We have a Gem golf cart that is a promo vehical. We want to have door graphics that light up. The owner would like to keep the factory doors for the clean professional look but I don't really know if that's possible. I suggested making new doors and making them like a thin back light sign.*

We have seen a company that does an electro illumination film under a graphic. I've never see *it in person so I don't have the slightest clue how that would work.*

Some one also said to edge light acrylic or frosted acrylic and put a graphic on that but i'm not sure how that will work out.*

Any help would be amazing.*
