Backlits

Am looking for opinions on inkjet printable media for backlits. Can print aqueous with a Canon imageProGraf or solvent with an HP 9000.

Caveat - will need to face mount to back of acrylic (image will face forward) - which leads to next question - which brand of optically clear adhesive has been successful for those that answer.

Simple answer would be to use DuraTrans (Lamda/Lightjet/Chromira) - but client is too - uh - stingy to do it the best way.

Thanks

As far as solvent options go, try Optima Opti-Solve Front Print Backlit from Advantage Sign Supply. It has worked quite well for us.

They also have an aqueous version, though I haven't tried it myself. I will say that I've had great success with several products in their house brand Optima line of medias.

As far as a mounting film, SEAL OptiMount Ultra is a good option.

I sell the Kodak Backlit film which is the nicest product available for inkjet, havent had alot of success though with solvent backlit films. Here is a price per sq.ft for Kodak

Big Fish -

Is the Kodak product only aqueous printable? If so - I am assuming it would need laminate?

thanks

You wont need a laminate because your going to face mount it and the face mount will act as your laminate.
