Backpainting acrylic question

When backpainting non-glare acrylic, do you lightly scuff/sand the 2nd surface first?

My project is an interior sign. Will regular latex acrylic paint work?

We do this almost daily, no need to scuff, just use a good quality latex paint. If you have access to spray equipment that is the best way, but a 4" foam roller works just as well

Do a few tests too... Takes no time (you can even check results when wet)...

...it always amazed me how good it looks, even when brush marks show on the back... it still looks perfect through the acrylic... especially with the non glare!
