bad DX4 head

Hello,
I have a strange problem with the black colour on the black/cyan DX4 head.
The test print is almost OK, as shown on the picture.

When printing the cyan is OK but the black is mirrored and shifted - above and below from where it should be - as shown on that picture -

Obviously I cannot print anything that has black.
Does anyone have an idea for fixing, exept buying new head:)
Thanks in advance

actually, that doesn't look like a bad printhead so much as an electrical problem.

If I had to guess ( and I do) I'd say your sensor strip is dirty or has ink drops on it.

Clean the sensor strip is diluted isopropyl alcohol

Not sure about your mirror image problem but it looks like you have encoder strip issues. Try cleaning your encoder strip... rubbing alcohol only, not solvent. As far as your other issue, check that all the cables going from the heads to the carraige board are seated properly. Make sure the machine is unpugged when messing with the cables or you will blow a board. Hope this helps.

jhilldesigns - i tried to attach the images 5-6 times but had problem with my upload speed, that's why.
Thank you for answering but unfortunately it is not the encoder strip. Tried my old head and everything was OK, except the bad nozzles. The cables and all other stuff is working OK, it's just the head, but unfortunately don't know how to fix it. If any one has an idea - you are welcome.

before you chunk the head. look inside the ribbon/slot. see if there's dried ink inside.
