banding issues

My Mutoh ValueJet is starting to have banding issues on solid colors. Is there a maintenance cleaning or calibration I should do? My nozzle check looks fine so I'm assuming the heads are still good.

Not sure about the Mutoh but when that happens with my Roland it is almost always a calibration issue.

How did you resolve problem? We have a solid background that looks more like a checkerboard.
