Banner Material to Use?

I have been looking into different banner materials to print on, dbl. sided with a Roland sp 300i. I am looking to find out what type of banner material that is used to hang vertically from light posts, etc. That you see in cities promoting the town. These will be hung out for years...if possible. Just curious as to what material is used, some look to be like a cloth material. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
