Best Colour Match

I am printing a logo on my roland sp300i and I am trying to match as best I can to a metallic colour. It is quite small so I can probably get away with it. I don't want it layered with regular vinyl so I am just looking for a colour similar to Avery's light gold metallic or or oracals brass metallic. The common gold on ford 2tone trucks. Thanks for your help.

I have some avery silver metallic. Are you saying I can print on the silver metallic, if so, I never knew that? My plan was to print on the oracal white digital media, a gold colour onto black.

Yeah what Pat said.
metallic silver makes a nice base as long as the top color does not have to be color matched.
Customer needed a relay baton that wouldn't end up looking like a capped piece of conduit wrapped in a sticker.....
Hard to tell from the photo but the metallic shows nice out in the sun.

It's better to have two hands than one glove.

I print on silver all the time. The only consideration is that the white point is now grey. This tends to make yellows brassy and everything prints a bit darker. Some colors darker than others. If you're unsure of just what's going to come out of the printer then print a Pantone chart on the media you're using. This chart will be definitive.

It's been my experience that something pale like Pantone 7403 or thereabouts gives a nice looking gold. Play around with it and find you what works for you.

I was always told not to print on anything other than digital media. What else can the printer print on? Just metallics? Thanks for all the responses.

Laminate, reflective, 1080, 7725, cheap poster paper (kid's school projects).
Anything that will fit under the pinch rollers and not cause a head strike is fair game.
I think digital media is manufactured under higher contaminate free conditions so you don't end up with a nice big thumb print in the middle of an 8 foot panel.
Other than that most regular vinyl both cast and calendared prints fine.
I have run into some cheap generic branded laminates that won't print cleanly.
Run some scraps and see what you get.
