Best free photo storage/display website?

Snagged a new Canon DSLR with a bunch of lenses recently and would like to display the photos (in hi-res) for my Friends/family to see.

Are any of your fellas amateur photogs and if so, which site do you like the best to display your images for others?

I drop them to Facebook (ugh, I *hate* social media) but it resizes them and makes them look like sh*t.

There are a lot of free hosting sites and all are fairly speedy.

The most important is the fine print. Read it carefully as to what you allow them to do with your photos as well as how long they will remain if unvisited. It is usually best to password access where you can.

40 bucks a year gets you a really really nice smugmug account. unlimited uploads, great interface, etc.

i love smugmug, had a pro account when i was the track photog for a local short track and with a "pro" account could sell directly from there, etc. also their printing service is WAY better than going to walmart/walgreens etc and the pricing is very competitive.

It depends on if you want others to see them via the web or be able to download the original file.

For sharing the files, Dropbox is a nice free utility (up to so many MBs of course, then it costs you). You simply install an FTP-like utility on your computer and anyone else that would access it. Then provide the login to all those that you want to have access.

For viewing Picasso is a nice utility from Google. I only use it at home for storage of pictures but it is possible to create a online gallery for others to view.
