Place in Chicago that rehabs/converts Rolands. They add heaters etc... Can't remember the name though. Rayco and SignSupply in Chicago have demos/refurbs.

Sign Outlet Store in Chicago -

Digitsmith.com, GlobalGarage.com, are good places - but I would prefer a place that refurbs that way you know what your getting

I can't help noticing most of the printers on Digitsmith.com were Roland, and there were very few Mimaki printers... I wonder why?

Probably because there are more of them sold than all the others combined.

That and the fact that, even though the Mimaki JV3 series printers were work horses back in the day, when they started to fail they tended to stay broken due to some bad design flaws. The Roland printers have kept their value as used machines due to how easy they are to fix.

I bought both of my current printers by contacting the tech at one of my sign supply companies. They know the printers out there and have serviced them. I told them to keep a lookout for a good one when someone bought new. John
