Question Best Way to Connect to Printer

So we run an HP Latex 360 and 560. They're both connected to their computer via network but I feel like sometimes not all info gets transferred over. Sometimes the RIP (Thrive 421) has trouble automatically switching the media being used or I'll hit "print now" sometimes and it won't print anything. I'm assuming it's an issue with connectivity but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

Do you have a Gigabit network? Hub, cables, etc. all properly configured for gigabit connectivity?
If you're running both from one computer, does it have enough horse power?
Onyx recommends a separate NIC for each printer plus another one for normal network traffic.
The product brochure doesn't mention the network info, but does have computer info:
